We were unable to get a date for our regular Men's Breakfast this month which both our guest, the Bishop of Gloucester, and our usual venue, the Beauchamp Arms Pub could manage, so we turned it into a Benefice-wide breakfast in a church hall, open to everyone, and around 50 people turned up.

Bishop Rachel Treweek went around the small tables of 4-6 people discussing their personal concerns as we ate our breakfast - a choice of fruit juice, cereal, bacon bap, toast and marmalade. She then spoke about her background and her job as a speech therapist before being called to ordination with her subsequent experience through the ranks of the church to become the first female diocesan bishop. She also spoke about
the diocesan vision 'LIFE' (Leadership, Imagination, Faith, Engagement) and encouraged us to get out and engage with people in our daily life, especially those who don't currently know about Jesus and the church. (Return to top)
