Safeguarding Vulnerable People
Picture, Hand Stop
The Church of England is aware of recent cases of people who have been ill-treated at the hands of its members and is anxious to ensure that all people, from the young to the old, the vulnerable and the able-bodied, are protected and, should something bad still happen, a means is readily available to address it.

It has therefore created a 'Safeguarding Regime' from the national church, through the dioceses, down to individual parishes, with professionally trained 'Safeguarding Officers' at each level. Every person who has a role in the church that requires them to come into contact with others, both paid officers and volunteers, is required to undergo a regular national security check and safeguarding training.
