| Dymock's Jesse Tree 2009 |
The Jesse Tree is a cross between an Advent Wreath and a Christmas Tree and is based on a prophesy in the Bible, Isaiah chapter 11, verse 1: "A shoot shall come out of the stock of Jesse and a branch shall grow out of his roots." Jesse was the father of the greatest Hebrew leader, king David, and Jesus' earthly father, Joseph, was descended from them - so Jesus is seen as the fulfillment of the prophesy. (Return to top)
